September Nonfarm Payrolls Projected to Rise by 90,000
The U.S. economy is expected to see a modest gain in nonfarm payroll employment for September 2026, according to FactSet's analysis of 27 estimates.
The median forecast predicts an increase of 90,000 jobs, which would mark a decrease from the previous month but still outpace the trailing 12-month average of 50,300.
This projection is based on a range of estimates from 60,000 to 130,000, with a spread of 70,000 - a smaller difference than the current 12-month average spread of 88,800.
