Silver Prices Soar to ₹2.55 Lakh per Kg Amidst Global Economic Uncertainty
Silver prices in India have seen a significant increase, reaching ₹2.55 lakh per kg on September 21, 2026, following the US Federal Reserve's interest rate hike. The price of silver has risen by 4.1% within nine days since September 11, and internationally, it is up 2.39% to $66.78 per ounce.
The Fed hiked interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16, affecting the silver market negatively. However, the recent rise in silver prices has been substantial, with a notable increase from ₹2.45 lakh to ₹2.55 lakh per kg.
According to the Silver Institute, the global silver market is expected to remain in deficit for the sixth consecutive year in 2026. Additionally, industrial use of silver is anticipated to fall by around 3% this year.
