Singapore's Sustainable Aviation Fuel Levy Takes Flight
Singapore has introduced a new Sustainable Aviation Fuel levy that affects flights departing from January 1, 2027. The charge varies depending on the destination and cabin class, with Economy passengers traveling within Southeast Asia facing a S$1 fee.
For longer-haul flights to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, New Zealand, and Pacific island destinations, Economy and Premium Economy travelers will pay S$6.40, while Business and First Class passengers will be charged S$25.60.
The highest passenger band applies to flights to the Americas, where Economy and Premium Economy travelers face a S$10.40 charge, and premium-cabin passengers pay S$41.60.
