SNB Holds Key Interest Rate at 0%, Despite Rising Inflation
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has decided to keep its key interest rate at 0%, a level it has maintained since June 2025. The decision was made during the central bank's quarterly review, and comes despite inflation remaining under control in Switzerland.
The SNB aims to keep inflation between 0% and 2%, and believes that maintaining the current interest rate is appropriate for achieving this goal and supporting economic activity.
Notably, the SNB has chosen not to follow suit with other major central banks, such as the US Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank (ECB), which have recently raised their key interest rates.
