SNB Maintains 0% Interest Rate Amid Stable Inflation
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has maintained its key interest rate at 0% for another quarter, sticking to its policy since June 2025. This decision was made as inflation remains under control in Switzerland.
In a statement, the SNB said it is prepared to intervene in the foreign exchange market if necessary to ensure appropriate monetary conditions. Unlike other central banks such as the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank (ECB), which have recently raised their key interest rates, the SNB has opted for the status quo.
The slight acceleration in inflation due to soaring oil prices does not seem to have altered the SNB's stance. The bank aims to keep inflation between 0% and 2%, a range it deems suitable for maintaining price stability and supporting economic activity.
