SNB Maintains Interest Rates at 0%, Revises Inflation Forecasts
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has maintained its key policy rate at 0%, as expected by market participants.
The SNB's decision was part of its quarterly monetary policy assessment, which also included revisions to its inflation forecasts. According to the bank, it expects inflation to be 0.7% in 2026 (up from a previous forecast of 0.6%), 0.8% in both 2027 and 2028.
The SNB has also announced that banks' sight deposits held at the central bank will be remunerated at the policy rate up to a certain threshold, aiming to ensure liquidity for financial institutions.
