Spain's Economy to Outperform Eurozone with 2.4% Growth Rate
The rating agency S&P Global Ratings has upgraded its forecast for Spain's economy in 2026, projecting a growth rate of 2.4%. This is significantly higher than the eurozone's expected growth rate of 0.9% and more than triple that of Germany, France, and Italy.
The updated forecast indicates that Spain will experience sustained expansion in the coming years, with a projected GDP increase of 1.8% in 2027, 2% in 2028, and 1.9% in 2029. Inflation is expected to moderate from 3.2% in 2026 to 2% by 2029.
The labor market will also see improvement, with the unemployment rate decreasing from 10.1% in 2026 to 9.8% in 2029. However, Spain will continue to have the highest unemployment rate among major eurozone economies.
