Spanish Bank Pays Back 91k Euros After Multi-Currency Mortgage Ruling
Ortega & García Abogados, a law firm based in Valencia, has successfully recovered 91,543.59 euros for clients affected by a multi-currency mortgage loan signed in 2008.
The banking entity, which has not appealed the ruling, deposited the amount on September 17, 2026, following a judicial resolution issued on April 7, 2025, by the Court of First Instance No. 25 bis of Valencia.
The resolution concluded that the bank did not provide sufficient pre-contractual information about the financial risks associated with the product, and therefore ordered the loan to be recalculated as if it had been granted in euros and referenced to the Euribor.
The borrowers had paid 262,456.53 euros between capital and interest, compared to 195,623.36 euros they would have paid with a conventional loan in euros, resulting in a difference of 66,833.17 euros that has been refunded along with 24,710.41 euros corresponding to legal and procedural interests.
