Sterling Crumbles as Oil Price Surge Fuels Dollar Rally

The British pound plummeted to its lowest value in over a month as investors rushed towards the safe-haven US dollar following a surge in oil prices.

The price of Brent crude oil jumped by more than 3% to around $108 per barrel, sparking renewed concerns about energy supplies and global market volatility.

According to Michael Pfister, an FX analyst at Commerzbank, the recent growth in Britain's GDP could lead to interest rate hikes, but markets are currently betting on a less aggressive approach by the Bank of England.
