Stripe Unveils Treasury in Australia to Streamline Global Finances for Local Businesses
Stripe has introduced its Treasury product in Australia to help local businesses streamline their global finances. The system allows companies to manage multiple currencies, make payments, and disburse funds worldwide from a single account within the Stripe Dashboard.
According to Karl Durrance, Stripe's managing director for Australia and New Zealand, tens of thousands of new Australian companies join the platform every month, many with international goals. He noted that these firms require tools capable of scaling with their expansion, which is why Treasury was introduced.
The Treasury product enables businesses to hold balances in multiple currencies, including Australian dollars, US dollars, British pounds, and euros, with instant conversions available among ten currencies. This allows users to access their earnings immediately, rather than waiting two days for transfers to an outside bank.
Stripe also announced that its Managed Payments will process overseas sales domestically through Stripe's local entities in the relevant country, raising approval rates while managing localized checkout experiences, tax obligations, fraud checks, disputes, and support. Additionally, the company has introduced Adaptive Pricing, which displays prices in a customer's home currency, resulting in an average 17.8 percent rise in cross-border sales.
