Supercars' inaugural double-header in New Zealand has yielded a significant economic boost for the country. The Repco Supercars Championship's maiden visit to Christchurch generated $9.5 million in revenue, while the Taupo leg brought in $7.9 million, despite being shortened due to inclement weather.

The championship's presence also attracted 3000 international visitors who spent an estimated $9.3 million during their stay, resulting in over 34,000 international visitor nights. This influx of tourists not only supported local businesses but also contributed to the country's tourism economy.

Supercars Executive Chairman Barclay Nettlefold praised the passion shown by fans at both events, stating that they had delivered a successful first double-header across both islands. Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Hon Louise Upston echoed these sentiments, highlighting the event's significant economic impact on Taupo and Christchurch.
