A massive underground complex is being built in the Swiss Alps to store the assets of the world's wealthiest individuals.

The mega-bunker, located beneath the Brünig Pass near Lungern, will feature 20 vaults buried beneath over 100 meters of solid rock, providing a high level of protection comparable to that of the Swiss National Bank.

The project is led by entrepreneur Thomas Gasser, who told RTS that clients will have to undergo several security checks before gaining access to the vaults.

Renting a space in the bunker will come at a steep price: each cave is sold on a 99-year lease with a minimum entry price of almost CHF1 million ($1.23 million).
