Swiss CPI Unchanged in September Amid Offsetting Trends
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Switzerland remained unchanged at 101.5 points in September compared to August, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The index was up by +1.0% compared to the same month last year.
The stability of the CPI is due to offsetting trends, with prices for heating oil, petrol and diesel increasing, but offset by decreases in prices for international package holidays, car rentals and car sharing, as well as hotels and parahotel accommodation.
The index increased by 1.4% on a monthly average basis in SDR terms, after rising by 0.3% in August. In Australian dollar terms, the index rose by 1.0% in September.
