Swiss Inflation Holds Steady at 1% Amid Fuel Price Gains
Swiss inflation remained steady at 1% in September, as higher fuel and heating oil costs were offset by cheaper package holidays and accommodation, according to the Federal Statistical Office.
The consumer price index was unchanged from August, standing at 101.5 points based on December 2025 = 100.
Heating oil prices rose 8.2% in September, while diesel increased by 4.4% and petrol by 3.3%. These increases were largely offset by lower prices for international package holidays, which fell 3.9%, as well as cheaper hotels, down 1.2%.
Cheap car rentals and parahotel accommodation also contributed to the stable inflation rate, with prices dropping 14.2% and 11.2% respectively from August.
