Tech Stocks Rebound with NVIDIA at Forefront
Tech stocks rebounded strongly this week, led by NVIDIA's upbeat earnings outlook. The Nasdaq 100 index futures rose 0.7%, and S&P 500 index futures gained 0.4%. The yen came under pressure, with the USD/JPY pair rising as much as 1% to 157.53.
The Federal Reserve's interest-rate hike has reinforced its credibility in combating inflation, easing concerns over crude oil supplies in the Middle East and bolstering earnings expectations for chipmakers. Asian markets followed suit, with South Korea's Kospi index surging as much as 2.7%, while Europe's STOXX 600 index fell 0.3%. Brent crude prices fell for the third consecutive day, approaching $102 per barrel.
