Thai Baht Stability Bolstered by Robust Reserves
The Thai Baht (THB) has maintained its stability in recent times, thanks to robust net foreign reserves and positive portfolio flows. According to the Bank of Thailand, the country's reserve buffer is more than double its short-term external debt, reducing vulnerability to volatility from external shocks.
Additionally, the launch of the THB2 billion 'Nano Plus' credit-guarantee program aims to boost access to financing among micro SMEs and self-employed borrowers, enhancing domestic liquidity and supporting the broader financial system. This has led to a strong bullish structure in the AUD/THB currency pairing, with momentum signals supporting additional upside.
The AUD/THB is trading at ฿23.592, marking a modest 0.5% gain on the day and holding just below session highs. It remains positioned above its key moving averages, reflecting a period of strong underlying momentum. The pair is expected to remain within the typical volatility band of ฿23.474 to ฿23.71, with a 77% probability assigned to further upside movement.
