Tokyo has become the world's most affordable market for Tesla vehicles, thanks to a combination of a weak Japanese Yen and national and city-specific subsidies.

The Tesla Model Y is listed at 5.7 million Yen, but after applying these discounts, it drops to just over $32,000 CAD, making it Tesla's most popular vehicle the cheapest in the world.

The Model 3 comes in even cheaper, at 3.2 million yen after subsidies, or around $28,500 CAD.

Tesla has been aggressively marketing its vehicles in Japan, trying to compete with domestic brands like Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Honda.
