Toyota Probox Gets T-Connect Update, Prices Rise in Japan

The Toyota Probox has received an update that brings it in line with modern fleet vehicles. The base price of the vehicle in Japan has increased by 47,300 yen to 1,965,700 yen, while the top-end model's price has also risen by the same amount to 2,308,900 yen.

The main change is the inclusion of a standard DCM communication module on every Probox. This allows for seamless connectivity with Toyota's cloud services, including T-Connect. The latter provides various features such as Helpnet, which can automatically contact an operator after an airbag deployment, eCare support when a warning appears on the instrument panel, and My Car Search.

My Car Search enables owners to check remotely if their driver's door is locked and the hazard lights are off. It also sends alerts if the door is left unlocked or the hazards remain on. T-Connect requires a service contract and a TOYOTA Account, but it is free for the first five years after the vehicle's initial registration.

This update marks the second notable change to the Probox in less than a year. In November 2025, Toyota expanded its Safety Sense system, adding features such as intersection detection, radar cruise control, and Lane Tracing Assist. The company has also added the Probox to KINTO, making it available for subscription in addition to traditional purchase.
