Trade Nation Acquires FXCM UK Client Book in Strategic Expansion Move
Trade Nation, a UK-based spread betting and CFD specialist regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has agreed to acquire the UK client book of Stratos Markets Limited, which operates as FXCM in the UK. This move is part of a broader strategy by FXCM's parent company, Jefferies Financial Group Inc, to exit the online retail brokerage business globally. Jefferies initially took control of FXCM in 2015 following a financial crisis caused by a sudden move in the Swiss Franc, which nearly led to FXCM's bankruptcy.
The acquisition, expected to be completed by late November 2026, marks a significant step for Trade Nation's CEO Jon Noble and Managing Director Kypros Zoumidou, who joined the company last year. The transition plan prioritizes client protection, continuity, and the best interests of traders. FXCM clients will be redirected to Trade Nation's website for more information.
Trade Nation aims to strengthen its position in the UK market by welcoming FXCM's experienced traders. Jon Noble, CEO of Trade Nation, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the company's competitive pricing, familiar trading platforms, and customer service. Brendan Callan, CEO of Stratos Group, noted that Trade Nation's service culture made it the ideal home for FXCM's UK clients.
Trade Nation, founded in 2014 and headquartered in London, operates globally with offices in Sydney, Lisbon, Johannesburg, Seychelles, Malaysia, and The Bahamas. Stratos Markets Limited, registered in England and Wales, has been providing online FX and CFD trading since 1999.
