U.S. Treasury yields dropped on Friday as investors processed a wave of economic data and the Federal Reserve's latest policy decision. The 10-year Treasury yield, a key benchmark for loans like mortgages and auto financing, fell 5 basis points to 4.933%. The 30-year Treasury yield declined 3 basis points to 5.293%, while the 2-year Treasury yield, sensitive to Fed rate moves, dropped 6 basis points to 4.589%.

The market is still reacting to this week's major events, including Thursday's personal consumption expenditures price index report. The index rose 0.5% monthly and 3.6% year-over-year, surpassing the Fed's 2% inflation target. This followed the Fed's decision to keep its key interest rate unchanged between 3.75% and 4%, a widely anticipated move.

Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh emphasized that policymakers are not locked into a predetermined path for monetary policy. 'If we had a firm conclusion about the conduct of monetary policy, we'd announce it to much fanfare today,' he told reporters after the meeting.

Investors are now focusing on upcoming economic reports, including the third-quarter employment cost index and next week's October non-farm payrolls data. The JOLTS job openings report for September is also on the horizon.
