Trump Administration Hit by Rising Inflation and Higher Costs
Political analyst Brit Hume said that rising inflation and higher costs of living are hurting the Trump administration ahead of the midterms. He cited a recent Fox News poll, which found that 63% of surveyed voters, including 26% of Republicans, believe the administration has made the economy worse.
Hume referenced another aspect of the same survey, where 64% of voters said President Trump's tariff agenda has hurt the U.S. economy. Additionally, 55% of respondents trusted Democrats to do a better job than Republicans in handling inflation.
The president received an overall job approval rating of 39%, with 24% supporting his moves to address affordability. The economic record of the Trump administration has taken a hit due to ongoing U.S. military operations against Iran, which have spiked global energy rates, and the administration's tariff fight with Canada.
