Trump Attacks Federal Reserve, Accusing Its Members of Anti-Trump Bias
US President Donald Trump has spoken out against the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates for the first time since July 2023. At a recent interview with Time magazine, Trump expressed his disapproval of the Fed's actions, stating that if he were head of the central bank, he would have voted against the rate hike.
'It is a problem because we have a very hostile Federal Reserve Board,' Trump said. 'I do not blame Kevin Warsh. I probably would have voted against the Board if I were in his place.'
Trump's comments come as the Fed has increased interest rates by 25 basis points, placing the target range between 3.75% and 4%. The President has accused the Fed of having a 'Trump hatred syndrome,' suggesting that its members are motivated by a desire to harm his administration.
