Trump Criticizes Fed Rate Hike Amid Inflation Concerns

In a conversation with Fed Chair Kevin Warsh before the vote, Trump said he advised him to follow the board's decision as it would not make a difference. However, Trump denied influencing Warsh's decision and emphasized his desire for the Fed's independence.

Warsh maintained that the Federal Reserve's primary goal is to bring inflation under control, citing persistent inflation and higher energy prices as concerns. He attributed some of this pressure to the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, which has pushed fuel prices up by over 7% in the past month.
