According to reports from The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, Donald Trump has been repeatedly calling Kevin Warsh, his Federal Reserve chair, since May. While it's not uncommon for presidents to communicate with Fed chairs, the frequency of these calls is unusual.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump 'calls Warsh in bursts,' meaning several times in a short period before going silent for longer periods. Bloomberg corroborated this account, stating that Trump and Warsh have spoken at least three times since May.

Trump's communication style with Warsh is described as 'irregular' and 'infrequent' by some sources. However, it's worth noting that Warsh has only been in the role for three months, so even if they've spoken three times, that's more than once a month.

The nature of their conversations remains unclear, but Bloomberg reported that Trump asks Warsh for his 'forecasts and opinions' while avoiding pressing him on monetary policy. The Financial Times also suggested that things didn't go well between the two when the Treasury curve bear steepened following Warsh's press conference.
