Trump Slams Fed Interest Rate Hike, Calls for Rates to Drop Below 1%

President Donald Trump has once again expressed his dissatisfaction with the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates. In a recent post on Truth Social, he stated that interest rates in the United States should be at or below 1% due to the country's strong credit rating and booming investment opportunities.

Trump also claimed that the US is 'carrying' almost every other country in the world, resulting in significant trade deficits. He argued that if the US were to stop trading with countries that have a deficit with it, the country would gain at least $1.5 trillion per year.

The President's comments are not new, as he has been vocal about his desire for lower interest rates since taking office. In fact, he previously lambasted former Fed Chair Jerome Powell and even attempted to pressure him into leaving the Fed by investigating the cost of a renovation project.
