Trump Targets Fed Again After Quiet Period
Since his second term began, President Donald Trump has been waging a campaign to exert influence over the Federal Reserve. Breaking with tradition, he's made public attacks on Fed officials and policies. One of his targets is Jerome Powell, whom he verbally attacked in the past.
Trump even attempted to push out Fed Governor Lisa Cook due to unproven allegations of mortgage fraud. While he temporarily stopped criticizing the Fed after Kevin Warsh took over from Powell in May, it's clear that Trump remains focused on the central bank.
