Trump Threatens Trade Action Over Fed Interest Rates

President Donald Trump has threatened to take trade action against countries with which the U.S. has a trade deficit if the Federal Reserve does not lower interest rates.

The threat came after the release of the August jobs report, which showed that the U.S. added 162,000 jobs, more than double the expected number.

This is seen as a positive sign for the economy, but also raises concerns about inflation and interest rates.

National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett attributed the strong job numbers to Trump administration policies, saying that tariffs have encouraged companies to onshore production and build factories in the U.S.
