Trump Voters Feel Pinch as Inflation Stays High
A recent Financial Times poll has revealed that most US voters feel worse off under President Donald Trump's second term. The poll, conducted by London-based research firm Focaldata, found that over 53% of registered voters said their finances had deteriorated since Trump returned to the White House in January 2025.
According to the poll, nearly 57% of independents and almost a quarter of self-identified Republicans also felt worse off under Trump. This growing discontent with his handling of the economy and cost of living could have significant implications for the midterm elections.
The data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that US inflation moderated in July but remains elevated, with a 0.1% increase month-on-month and a 3.4% rise from the same period a year ago.
