Liz Truss has made another gaffe in her latest interview on LBC, where she appeared to believe that the Bank of England was set up by Tony Blair. The former Prime Minister, who served for just 49 days in 2022, claimed that the central bank's foundation was a result of Blair's actions.

Ferrari asked Truss to repeat her statement, and she happily obliged, leaving many to question her knowledge of UK history. The Bank of England was actually founded in 1694 by Royal Charter under William III and Mary II.

The incident has sparked widespread ridicule on social media, with many pointing out that Blair could not have been responsible for setting up the bank over three centuries after its founding.
