Truss Deflects Blame for Mini-Budget Disaster
Liz Truss, the former UK Prime Minister, was met with a harsh reminder of her failed mini-budget policies during an interview on LBC's breakfast show. Truss had claimed she was 'proud' of the £45 billion in unfunded tax cuts introduced by her government, which ultimately led to the economy tanking.
Her host, Nick Ferrari, pointed out that her policies had caused mortgage rates to soar, inflation to rise, and the value of the pound to collapse. Truss was ousted from office after just 49 days in Downing Street.
In response to Ferrari's criticism, Truss shifted the blame to the Bank of England, suggesting they were 'ideologically against' her policies and had deliberately sabotaged her government's efforts.
