TSX Futures Slip Ahead of Bank of Canada Rate Decision

TSX futures took a modest hit on Wednesday as investors prepared for the Bank of Canada's rate decision, which is expected to keep interest rates steady.

The S&P/TSX Composite index fell 0.14% to 2,103.70 points after Tuesday's sharp sell-off, where it dropped 1.23% to a near one-month low.

The Canadian dollar showed some resilience against the US dollar, trading at around 1.3980 per greenback, as energy-market support offset broader safe-haven demand for the US dollar.

The Bank of Canada's decision is expected to be a rate hold at 2.25% for a seventh consecutive meeting, with core inflation remaining steady near 2% and analysts expecting Governor Tiff Macklem to maintain a balanced posture.
