TSX Sinks on Thursday, BlackBerry Beats Expectations
The TSX finished Thursday in negative territory after a volatile day of trading. The index closed at 35,706.46, down 44.97 points from its opening.
The Canadian dollar also declined, losing 0.16 cents to reach 70.74 cents US.
In company news, BlackBerry reported quarterly results, which sent its stock price up by 43 cents, or 3.6%, to $12.27.
Kinross Gold suffered a significant drop in value, falling $4.41, or 11.3%, to $34.50, after the miner reduced its production guidance for 2026 and 2027.
