TSX Snaps Five-Month Winning Streak Amid Mining Sector Woes
The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) continued its downward trend on Wednesday, losing 84.1 points to close at 35,366.17.
The decline was driven by losses in mining and other sectors, which outweighed gains in energy stocks.
This marks the end of a five-month winning streak for the TSX, with September being particularly turbulent due to rising global bond yields, a Fed rate hike, and escalating Canada-U.S. trade tensions.
The health-care sector was the biggest decliner, with Curaleaf Holdings falling 7.6% to $14.20.
