Turkey Detains Over 190 Suspects in Massive Israel-Linked Investment Scam
Turkey has launched an investigation into a massive investment fraud network linked to Israel, resulting in the detention of between 191 and 201 suspects. The operation targeted 28 companies operating 42-44 shell call centers across 286 addresses in Istanbul and the southwestern province of Muğla.
The scheme used social media, search engines, and websites to advertise lucrative forex and crypto returns, with multilingual 'conversion' and 'retention' agents contacting interested parties under platform names such as Inefex, Quantum AI, Algo Education, and Exentral-Int.
When victims tried to withdraw funds, prosecutors said accounts were 'blocked' and extra payments were demanded for taxes or unblocking fees, while the money was never invested but transferred to overseas bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets.
