U.S., Japan Agree on Strong Yen Following Trump-Takaichi Talks
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met online with Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama to discuss the desirability of a strong yen, reflecting Japan's strong economic fundamentals.
The talks built on Tuesday's meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, and reflected strong Japan-U.S. ties.
Bessent stated that he and Katayama also discussed the importance of staying in close communication on currency markets.
