U.S. Treasury Yields Reach Resistance Zone, Dollar Pairs at Risk
U.S. 10-year Treasury yields are nearing a critical resistance zone, according to StoneX's Market Analyst Razan Hilal. As yields approach this long-term resistance, overbought momentum readings on both three-month and weekly charts raise the risk of a near-term pullback.
Hilal notes that indicators on the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield charts are flashing warning signals, suggesting that the current move may be vulnerable to near-term reversal risks. The consequences extend to the U.S. dollar and major currency pairs that have climbed alongside rising yields.
The U.S. Dollar Index is testing new highs, supported by rising U.S. Treasury yields, a relatively restrictive Federal Reserve compared with other major economies, and persistent Middle East geopolitical risk. However, Hilal warns of a bearish RSI divergence on the daily chart, which may signal short-term pullback risk for dollar pairs.
Hilal advises cross-asset traders to be cautious as the outcome sets the tone for rate-sensitive positioning well beyond the U.S. Treasury market. The reversal in yields and its impact on major currency pairs is a key area of focus for traders, particularly with overbought conditions on the three-month and weekly charts.
