UAE and Canada Seal Record-Speed Trade Deal Worth $4.2B
The UAE and Canada have concluded record-speed negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), set to boost bilateral trade between the two countries. The agreement is expected to enhance the significant trade between them, which reached approximately $4.2 billion in 2025, reflecting a 21 percent growth compared with the previous year.
The CEPA program, launched by the UAE in September 2021, has already concluded agreements with 38 countries and surpassed $1 trillion in total trade six years ahead of schedule. The UAE's goal is to more than double the size of its economy to over $800 billion by 2031.
According to UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, 'The successful conclusion of CEPA negotiations between the UAE and Canada reflects the depth of the strategic relationship between our two nations and our shared desire to build a stronger, more resilient, and more sustainable economic partnership.'
