The UK economy expanded by 0.4% in July, according to recent data from the Office for National Statistics.

This growth rate was higher than economists' median forecast of no change from June.

In the first half of this year, the British economy saw a significant increase, growing by 1%, outpacing other advanced economies like those in the Group of Seven.

The Bank of England had previously predicted that the UK economy would expand by 1.1% overall in 2026, and more recently, Governor Andrew Bailey stated that economic data has been 'a bit stronger' than expected since then.
