UK Economy Revised Upward Amid Strong Services Sector Growth
Britain's economy has been revised to show stronger growth in the second quarter of the year, according to official figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The ONS reported that UK gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5 per cent between April and June, up from the initial estimate of 0.4 per cent.
This revised growth is attributed to stronger performance in the services sector, which makes up a significant portion of the UK's economy.
However, the ONS also revealed that revisions to past data showed growth was weaker than initially thought last year, with a 1.2 per cent growth rate for 2025 as a whole, down from the previously recorded 1.3 per cent.
