UK Infrastructure Plan Hits First Anniversary Milestone Amid Execution Concerns
The UK's National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA) marked its first anniversary in April 2026, having streamlined its oversight of major government projects and continued to build out its remit.
The Infrastructure Pipeline has grown, with NISTA's digital pipeline tracking 734 projects worth approximately £718 billion over the next decade. The Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) model is moving slowly, with Euston Station progressing to market engagement after a year of planning.
GCP Infrastructure Investments Limited, which provides loans secured against contracted UK public-sector-backed cash flows, has seen its discount to Net Asset Value narrow to around 14% from 28% last year. This has resulted in a dividend yield of approximately 8.3%, well above the Bank of England base rate.
