UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) has written to eurochange, a foreign exchange company, expressing concerns about its Israeli shekel buy-back policy.

eurochange's website advertises a service allowing customers to sell leftover Israeli shekels back to the company at one of more than 240 branches, with no restrictions on where the shekels were purchased.

However, UKLFI found that attempts to sell Israeli shekels through eurochange's online system resulted in messages stating that the currency was unavailable or could not be bought at that time.

A call to eurochange customer support revealed that the company would only buy Israeli shekels if they had been originally purchased from eurochange, with the agent citing low stock levels as the reason for this restriction.
