Ukraine’s dollar rate drops below 45 hryvnias as euro rises
The National Bank of Ukraine announced updated exchange rates on Wednesday, October 7, reflecting a continued weakening of the dollar against the hryvnia. The official exchange rate for the US dollar dropped to 44.95 hryvnias, down from 45.06 hryvnias the previous day. Meanwhile, the euro rose slightly, with the official rate set at 50.64 hryvnias per euro.
The NBU also adjusted the official rate for the Polish zloty, setting it at 11.5966 hryvnias, an increase of 7 kopecks. These changes were reported by Українські Національні Новини (UNN), citing data directly from the NBU.
According to data from specialized websites, as of 08:00 on Wednesday, banks were trading the dollar in a range of 44.71 to 45.24 hryvnias, while the euro was trading between 50.26 and 50.94 hryvnias. The zloty was trading between 11.27 and 11.76 hryvnias. On the interbank market, the rates were tighter, with the dollar trading at 44.81 to 44.86 hryvnias and the euro at 50.41 to 50.46 hryvnias.
The report also noted that the euro had previously fallen to its lowest level since May 2025 due to France’s financial problems, while the dollar strengthened despite weak US employment data.
