United Airlines is introducing a new seating option called Relax Row, which allows passengers to turn three economy seats into a couch. This concept, known as Skycouch, has been offered by Air New Zealand for years but will now be available on a major North American carrier.

The Relax Row will feature leg rests that can be raised after takeoff, creating a larger, lie-flat surface across the row. Passengers will also get a custom-fitted mattress pad, a specially sized blanket, and two additional pillows.

United expects to launch the Relax Row in 2027 on its Boeing 787 and 777 wide-body aircraft, with plans to have it available on more than 200 planes by 2030. However, the airline has not announced pricing or how the booking process will work.
