US DOJ Disrupts Chinese Hacking Operation Targeting Government Agencies
The US Department of Justice announced that it has disrupted a Chinese hacking operation, which it believes is responsible for cyber break-ins at the DOJ, NASA, Federal Reserve, Senate and other sensitive US government agencies.
In a statement, the DOJ said that it has seized internet domains used by two hacking platforms, QScan and QTRouter, which were used in the penetration campaign.
A court-authorized seizure was made to make QScan and QTRouter inoperable. The operation is believed to be the work of a Chinese state-sponsored group called 'QTFY,' employed by Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company.
