US Dollar Falls as Weaker Employment Figures Surprise Markets
The US Dollar Index (DXY) fell by 0.23% to around 101.80 after the release of weaker-than-expected United States employment figures on Friday.
The Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) increased by only 29K in September, significantly below market expectations of 90K.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Unemployment Rate edged higher to 4.2%, while the Labor Force Participation Rate increased to 61.8% from 61.6%.
