US Dollar Index Futures Sees Large Speculator Long Positions Plummet
Large currency speculators in the US dollar futures have been decreasing their net long positions over the past few weeks. The latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) shows that these non-commercial futures contracts, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 10,330 contracts in the week ending September 22, 2026.
This marks a significant decrease of 263 net positions compared to the previous week. The COT report tracks the positioning of market participants in various futures markets, including the US dollar index. According to the data, large currency speculators have been reducing their long positions in the US dollar, indicating a potential shift in sentiment among these market participants.
