US Dollar Loses Ground to Canadian Dollar Amid Interest Rate Shift Expectations
The US Dollar vs Canadian Dollar exchange rate has edged lower as traders anticipate a shift in interest rate differentials between the two countries. According to Traders Union, this is due to expectations that the Canadian dollar will benefit from a widening gap in interest rates.
Citi has recommended short positions in USD/CAD based on this view, citing a stronger-than-expected policy stance from the Bank of Canada as a contributing factor.
The current technical analysis shows that USD/CAD remains below its key moving averages, with most indicators signaling downside pressure. The five-day range for the exchange rate is projected to be between C$1.3705 and C$1.3843.
