US Federal Reserve Keeps Interest Rates Steady Amid Inflation Concerns

The US Federal Reserve kept interest rates steady at 3.50-3.75 percent for the fifth consecutive meeting, despite three policymakers calling for a rate hike to combat surging inflation.

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh described the meeting as a 'family fight' with three regional presidents dissenting from the majority and recommending a quarter-point increase in interest rates.

The decision comes amidst high prices and inflation, which has spiked on the back of President Donald Trump's war on Iran, leading to skyrocketing energy costs that are bleeding into other products.

Warsh denied any reticence in taking action against high prices, stating 'We are on the job. We will deliver. We are focused like a laser, making sure we can do it.'
