US Jobs Market Sees Strong Gain in August 2026
According to data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and retrieved from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, US non-farm payroll employment saw a significant increase in August 2026.
The numbers show that there were 162,000 new jobs added in August, bringing the total to 159.1 million persons.
This marks a stronger-than-expected gain, surpassing the revised figure of 21,000 reported for July 2026.
Despite this increase, the US unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1% in August 2026.
