US Jobs Rebound Sparks Muted Dollar Reaction Ahead of Inflation Print
The US jobs market rebounded in August, with nonfarm payrolls adding 162,000 positions, the best reading since March.
This was the first positive month for job growth after a decline of 104,000 in July and a revised total of 55,000 more jobs added to June and July than initially reported.
The unemployment rate remained at 4.1%, which is slightly lower than earlier this year.
The dollar's initial reaction was muted as markets focused on the upcoming inflation data due on September 11, with early estimates suggesting core CPI will hold steady at 3.4%.
